The Top 12 Siquijor Beaches to Visit Right Now
Have you got your beach-hopping essentials ready? After seeing these beautiful beaches, you might want to start planning right away…
1. Paliton Beach
Location: San Juan
Entrance fee: Free
We’re starting off strong with Siquijor’s poster child: the famous Paliton Beach.
Lined with palm trees and green cliffs, this is an ideal place to watch the sunset and enjoy warm waters.
It has white powder-to-pebble sand, calm azure waves, and fishing boats at rest by the shore.
That said, it can get a bit crowded, and the waters here won’t be the clearest since they’re quite shallow and full of seagrass.
It may not be the best for swimming and snorkeling, but you’re guaranteed a stellar sunset.
It’s also dotted with mini-stalls offering various eateries, from soft drinks to beers and crepes.
2. Salagdoong Beach
Location: Maria
Entrance fee: 30 Philippine Pesos (PHP) per person
Here’s another tourist hotspot called Salagdoong Beach.
This stunning beach is known for its crystal-clear turquoise water and soft white sand. Oh, it’s also a hit among cliff divers.
If you’re an adrenaline junkie, you’ll absolutely love the thrill of leaping from the rocky cliffs. There are a few shallower parts for beginners too.
And don’t worry. The friendly lifeguards at the diving platforms will be there to help if you’re a first-timer.
You’ll find a few public showers and restaurants nearby if you want to tidy up before having lunch or wash down after a dive.
3. Solangon Beach
Location: San Juan
Entrance fee: Free
If there’s one beach that is great for families, it’ll be this one.
Solangon Beach, a favorite among locals, provides a lovely little escape with Instgrammable scenery.
The stretches of white sand are lined with palm trees, some with swings, offering plenty of shade.
The water is also shallow, making it ideal for families with small children.
So, laze away under a palm tree while the kiddos build their sand castles.
You’ll notice hotels and resorts scattered around the beach, adding to its luxurious charm.
4. Maria Bay
Location: Maria
Entrance fee: Free
Unlike the other beaches here, Maria Bay offers a more unique experience.
It’s not your typical spot for all-day chillin’, rather, it’s perfect for taking stunning shots.
Plus, you’ll likely have it all to yourself, so no one will get in the way of your snaps.
This bay has some of the most picturesque scenery: jewel-like blue water, mangrove forests, and a marine sanctuary-type environment.
Couples, families, and friends can use this beautiful, untouched bay as the backdrop for Philippine photography.
5. Cang Iping Beach
Location: San Juan
Entrance fee: Free
Cang Iping Beach is a chilled spot that’ll soothe your soul.
It’s a post-card-worthy beach with tall palm trees towering over its vast stretch of white sand and bright blue waters.
The soft, powdery sand here is perfect for sunbathing and tanning.
Definitely come here if you need to take a break from the buzzing town of San Juan or if you want a less crowded beach than Solangon or Paliton.
Couples will particularly enjoy this beach for its magical sunsets and long stretches of sand for those romantic walks.
6. Tubod Beach
Location: San Juan
Entrance fee: Free for Tubod Beach and 50 Philippine Pesos to enter the Tubod Marine Sanctuary
If you’re after some of the best snorkeling locations in Siquijor, you can’t go wrong with the gorgeous Tubod Beach, thanks to its vibrant coral reef.
Now part of Coco Grove Resort, this well-groomed beach is a slice of paradise for beach lovers.
Think white coralized sands, hammocks resting between palm trees, ethereal sunsets, and inviting waters.
While most people come here to relax, those with an adventurous spirit will be swept away by the marine life here since it’s home to a sanctuary.
There’s also snorkeling and scuba diving rentals available at this hidden gem.
7. Sabas Beach
Location: Lazi
Entrance fee: Free
Sabas Beach is a public beach with a small resort and campsite.
It feels a bit more secluded and unspoiled with the option of spending the night here.
Lazi Town is a short drive away if you need anything or would like to explore a municipality with just 22,488 people.
This small and quiet beach is peppered with colorful fishing boats and big canopy trees in case you forgot your umbrella.
There’s a fishing village along this short stretch on the coast, so you’ll likely bump into a few locals.
8. Pontod Beach
Location: San Juan
Entrance fee: Free
Visit this isolated beach on the northern coast of San Juan town.
This unknown gem stretches along a pristine coastline of the finest sand and bluest waters.
It’s easily one of the most Instagrammable places on the island, with barely any people around.
Ironically, it’s right by Paliton Beach, which makes its secluded atmosphere more special.
You can take incredible photos here with your silhouette and colorful skies reflecting in the calm, shallow waters during low tide.
Enjoy surfing, beachcombing, snorkeling, and marine life spotting, but just know that there are no lifeguards or bathroom access here.
9. Secret Beach
Location: Maria
Entrance fee: Free
No longer a secret (pun intended), this off-the-beaten-path beach was made for relaxation.
Secret Beach is the easternmost beach on the island of Siquijor, which also goes by the name of Bacong Beach.
While you do have to climb down a few stairs to get there, it’s totally worth it for its remoteness and lovely views.
If swimming is your main objective, I’d suggest skipping this one as it’s mostly rocky.
And these sharp rocks can be dangerous, especially during low tide.
That said, thanks to it’s rocky surface, the water is turbulent during high tide, so I wouldn’t even recommend swimming then.
Come for the unmatched scenery and chilled vibes.
10. Kagusuan Beach
Location: Maria
Entrance fee: 30 Philippine Pesos
Kagusuan Beach is one of those enchanting places that showcases the island’s raw beauty.
It’s remote, peaceful, and dotted with interesting rock formations that make it stand out from the rest. Simply soak in the pretty scenery and snap up some wonderful pictures.
Note that this beach has been made private, there’s a jungle you can walk through to reach it.
It’s a primitive beach with very few amenities with no stores or resorts nearby.
So, it’s best to bring along some water, food, and anything else you may need for the day.
11. Candanay Sur Beach
Location: Candanay Sur
Entrance fee: Free
Candanay Sur Beach is another tucked-away hidden gem that allows you to bond with nature.
Relax on the cream-colored sand, indulge in swimming, and enjoy leisure walks.
Parking is also free here, but there aren’t many beach amenities and no lifeguards or bathroom facilities.
So, it’s not exactly family-friendly, and you’ll see some stray dogs here and there.
Besides all that, it’s still worth your time, offering you scenic views of a local fishing village.
There are restaurants a short drive away, however, that allow you to indulge in authentic Filipino dishes as well as international cuisines.
12. Pier Beach
Location: Siquijor Pier
Entrance fee: Free
I shall end this post on a high note by recommending a trip to Pier Beach.
Located right next to Siquijor Port, this spot offers an unexpected oasis of inviting, crystal-clear waters, soft white sand, and a pristine shoreline.
No, seriously, there’s generally not a single piece of litter in sight.
Sit back, watch the ferries dock at the port, and visit nearby restaurants or carinderias (food stalls with small seating areas).
Tips for Visiting Beaches on Siquijor Island
Want the ultimate beach experience? Follow these tips:
- Keep an eye out for pesky sea urchins. They are pretty common on Philippine beaches, and just one sting can leave you in serious pain.
- Pack lightly. You don’t want to carry a heavy load while beach-hopping, so pack only the essentials you need.
- Speaking of essentials. Take water, snacks, sunblock, a beach towel, water shoes, and something warm with you (in case the weather changes).
- Make sure to leave no trace.
